Cambodia Casinos
February 16th, 2023 by Kirsten

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia casinos that reside just across the border from nearby Thailand, where gambling den gaming is not legal. Eight gambling halls are situated in a generally tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent location, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income gained from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of controls requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; however, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 17:00, and even though visas are for all intents and purposes necessary to cross, there are means around this, as is correct of many borders.

The original Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored boat casino, features one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 60 tables. The Naga river boat is open all day and night with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. There are one hundred and fifty slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slots and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the normal table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel complex that highlights many conveniences in addition to the casino, which offers 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and eighty eight table games.
